Q: I bought a used Ford Explorer 1994 and when I go over speed bumps the thing feels like its going to fall apart
My used 1994 ford explorer I bought runs great, it has a few little issues i’m gonna get taken care of but when I go over speed bumps the thing feels like it will literally fall apart… it sometimes does it too when I stop or start and it feels like there is something loose… my dad says its probably the suspension, and this is my first SUV. It otherwise runs great no problems, any ideas, thanks
A: I agree with your dad. Sounds like your shocks or struts (which ever you have) are bad and need to be replaced.
Q: Question about a used ford explorer suv?
I am interested in buying a 1996 used ford explorer that has 185,000 miles. I am hesitant because of the mileage but the vehicle is in pretty good keeped condition. Should I buy it? Its for sale for 1300.
A: You don’t get much for $1300. for peace of mind, have a mechanic
check it out, otherwise go for it!
Q: How can I find out if my used ford explorer is still under factory warranty?
I do not want to contact the Ford dealer or where I bought it from.
A: Most Ford’s come with a 3 year 36,000 or 50,000 mile warranty. If you have passed that most likely you don’t have a warranty. But whats the big deal about contacting a Ford dealer? call them, tell them the year and make and model and they can tell you for sure if you still have a warranty.
Q: Where can i get a used 1997 Ford Explorer V6 engine?
My 1997 Ford Explorer V6 engine shattered a piston and bent three con rods and valves. I need to replace it. Any ideas where i can order a good used engine from? alternatively i could rebuild it but i would need to buy the liner kit. Any ideas also where i can order the liner kit from. i would like to compare the costs of the alternatives.
A: junk yard
Q: Is this a realistic price for a used ford explorer or expedition?
I’ve seen a couple online for about $2,000-$4,500 and i was wondering if these were realistic prices, I cant really exceed $5,000 but I really want this car, if i were to buy one of these even with a car-fax report do u think there would be stuff wrong with the car that i would have to pay extra to fix? I appreciate your help I don’t have much knowledge on cars
I was looking at the 1999 and 2000 models
A: Try Kelly Blue Book. http://kbb.com
Q: I am looking to buy a used Ford Explorer. Anyone have one for sale?
Color is really not an issue unless it’s red (no red) and mileage doesn’t matter that much. However, let’s talk about price.
I’m looking in the South Central Indiana area.
A: Try looking on http://www.craigslist.org
Q: I bought a used 2001 Ford Explorer and it has the keypad on the door to unlock it but I don’t know the combo?
I bought a used 2001 For Explorer Sport and it has a keypad on the outside to unlock the car but I don’t know the combination. It has all of the manuels but it doesn’t say the combo.
Is there a way for me to reset it? Or can I find out what it is?
THANKS!
A: My local Ford dealer wants $25 to look up the code(but they are big Aholes).
Q: How much would a used 2003 ford explorer be?
I would like leather sits, no 3rd row seating, dual air conditioning, and just everything that needs to be on a car
A: $6,000 to $10,000 depending on Mileage and options..
Q: I recently purchased a used 1992 Ford Explorer, there has been gas fumes raging through the vents?
everytime we drive for a good distance the car gets hot and starts blowing strong gas fumes through the vents, now my girlfriend and I are both having signs of headahces, dizziness and nausea! Could it possibly be from Carbon Monoxide from driving with the fumes for the past 3 months!
A: thats what u get for getting an 18 year old car
Q: How much to rebuild or buy a used 2003 Ford Explorer Transmission?
This truck is nothing but problems. Tranny is slipping, o/d sensor is bad…
A: Make sure the transmission dipstick shows full when the truck is HOT, parked and engine idling. If it still slips, I’d have the transmission pan removed by the Ford Dealer and let their transmission technician see what debris is in the pan. Have them change the filter and hope for the best. It’s worth the money unless your positively sure the transmission can’t be fixed easily without replacing it. Then, if you want to keep the vehicle for 5 years or more, have a new remanufactured Ford or http://www.jasperengines.com transmission installed. Both have 3 year 100,000 mile warranties, whereas a junk yard transmission is like “rolling the dice” http://www.junkyarddog.com http://www.car-parts.com DON’T have the transmission “rebuilt” by any transmission shop.
Q: Opinions on buying a used 2004 Ford Explorer?
It has 4×4, 88,508 miles on it and they’re asking $8,864 for it. It looks great. Is this a good deal. Anyone had bad/good experiences owning an 04 Ford Explorer? Thanks
A: sounds like deal to me
Q: What is the average price for a quality paint job on mid-sized SUV, like a Ford Explorer?
I recently bought a used ford explorer and am not satisfied with the paint. It has chips, discoloration, etc. I was just curiuos what it would cost to get a new pant job for it.
A: if you go to someone
you know.
Just ask some
friends if they
know someone
that paints cars.
But you would
probably be lookin
at around $300-$800
Hope i helped

Q: What do you guys think of a used ‘98 ford explorer?
1998 Ford Explorer XLT SOHO
135,000 miles
power everything
leather seats
amazing condition/ no dents or anything
but i have no idea how the engine or transmision works
and i cant afford to take it to a dealer or mechanic to check it out
so what are some common problems with fords?
and what do you think about it?
A: The biggest concern with those with the 4.0 SOHC engine was the timing chain tensioners. If you’ve got a problem with those, your best bet for repair is a dealer. There are special tools to set the timing on them, the easiest thing to check for is a ticking noise from the engine. You could also have a dealership run the VIN number and see if repairs were already made. Other than that they were really good vehicles.
Q: i need help finding a new or used 1994 ford explorer transmission?
does anyone know a site where i can find any?
ive looked everywhere and i cant find anything? :[
A: Tey your phonebook and look under junk yards or salvage yards, they will be able to either sell you one or point you in the right direction
