Q: 2008 Chrysler Town and Country or 2008 Honda Odyssey?
I personally think the chrysler looks really good and has tons of high tech. stuff. And the 2nd row seats that can turn around and there is a table in the middle is totally unique and cool.

The honda odyssey is pretty similar to other vans. Theres nothing really special.

But which do you prefer?
Since the honda are more reliable, how come they can’t do the same thing chrysler did? So their cars can be high tech, and reliable, which will make it like the best car?

A: your right, the t&c has better features and more high tech equipment, but as for reliability, honda (and asian/foreign cars in general) are more reliable than american cars which is what the t&c is, and you will probably have less problems. So its up to you on what you want

My family owns a 1995 Honda Odyssey, and we want to replace the original carpet floor mats. I have checked HandA accessories, Ebay, and AutoAnything, but they only sell the all season mats, and I am looking for original replacements. If any could please help, it would be greatly appreciated.

A: its simple start the van up…then use the button on the dash for the trip and press it a few times until the oil life has came up then press and hold it until it starts flashing then let off and press and hold it again until it goes to 100%….when in doubt its in the owners manuel!

The 2004 Honda Odyssey D shift light does not work, but the other shift light on the dash board is fine. Also, Maintence Required light is on as well, despite pushing the Reset button. What is the problem?

A: The LED bulb that lights up the D is bad and needs to be replaced. The maintenance required light is not the same as the check engine light. The maintenance required light is strictly oil change related. Nothing else.

A: first of all, they are right when they say honda’s last longer, but that is only if the person takes good care of them and does all the routine maintenance. I have seen honda’s last as long as 300,000 miles before. So be sure to check the carfax for the maintenance record.

Q: My automatic Honda Odyssey seems like the clutch is slipping…what could it be?
I have an automatic Honda Odyssey and for the last couple of months, whenever I start a journey, and I cruise down a hill without the accelerator on, and then put my foot on the accelerator to go up a hill, it seems like the clutch is slipping. After the first time, it is fine for the rest of the day. Maybe it’s the transmission fluid? Although this looks full…is there maybe a filter that could be stopping it? What else could it be? A: that could be a few diffrnt problems. the transmission filter might be clogged the transission could be slippin cuz its oin bad or the auto clutch is goin bad. ur best bet is taking it to transmission specialist and having them check it out

A: Did you notify your insurance company? Or was there another driver who was at fault? If there was another driver who was at fault, his company should be paying you for the vehicle, supplying you with a rental car for a couple weeks to 30 days (depends on the laws in your state) and paying any medical bills.

If you still have a loan on the vehicle, the check will probably come to both you and the bank. You have to endorse it over to the bank, who will then close out the current loan on the vehicle and refund any monies due you.

But you need to notify your insurance company, even if you were not at fault. Part of what you pay insurance premiums for is their legal help if you are involved in an accident with another driver and the other driver’s insurance company drags their feet and so forth.

We’re trying to decide between a Honda Odyssey or a Toyota Sienna for our growing family(5 kids by November) and we were wondering which one people like better and why. A: We test drove both and what really sold us on the Odyssey over the Sienna is that the Odyssey has stability control and full side curtain airbags standard. We bought our Odyssey on Saturday.

Whats the ideal oil change interval for Honda Odyssey in MONTHS?
I searched a lot for this, and everywhere, the interval is by miles.
Becos I dont drive lot of miles, the oil change interval by miles will not work in my case. I only drive 5000 – 6000 a year.

A: If you look on page 424. You will see your maintenance minder grid. If you look below the grid on the left you will see the following.

*1 If the message ‘‘SERVICE DUE NOW’’ does not appear more than 12months after the display is reset, change the engine oil every year.

If the manufacture(Honda) tells you to do this it isn’t going to hurt the engine. So according to your owners manual once a year will work for you.

Q: With all controls on steering wheel of Honda Odyssey why has the maker gone backwards?
My old Odyssey has 21st century gear shifting. Everything is on steering column.
Now the new ones have gone back to 18th/19th century gear shifting like all other cars. What’s going on?
Every who has an older Odyssey loves the 21st century gear shifting and those I have talked to hate the old way.

A: A) there were no cars in the 18th century and almost none in the 19th century.
B) Steering column shifters are extremely dated and pretty soon will be used on no new cars.
C) Honda moved the shifter to the dash in 2005.

*If you really want to complain about the Odyssey complain about the new god awful exterior.

Q: Maintenance light flashes briefly when I start my 03 Honda Odyssey. Do I need to get it checked?
I don’t have the manual for my 03 Odyssey, so I don’t know how the maintenance light works. Does it give scheduled maintenance reminders (like oil changes), or does it only flash when there is another problem? Mine flashes briefly when I start the engine.
This just started recently – it hasn’t always done it.

A: Has it always done this? Does it flash with all the rest of the lights when you start the car? If so then its probably just part of the startup sequence. If your still worried about it take it to a shop and ask them what the deal is. The worst thing they can do is look at you funny and tell you its normal.
