Q: Would a honda civic si sedan be a good car to learn from?
I want a car to learn off of. learn how to drive stick, change engine oil, to get dirty with and stuff. Would a honda si sedan be a good one? my dad wants to get me a newer car even though i begged for a 94 accord. help?

A: I would learn how to drive an an old beater like a 1991 Toyota Tercel or Honda Civic.
That’s how I learned. Now I can drive a nice vehicle with a manual without having to worry about purchasing a new clutch within a few months.

Q: is a 2007 Honda Civic Si a good car for a second car for a responsible teenager?
It’s a 2007 Honda Civic Si, going for $17k. Is this a good car choice?

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carquotes.fateback.com

Q: How are the back seat in the 2007 Honda civic si coupe?

Q: What 5 speed transmission will fit my 1990 Honda Civic Si?
I have a 1990 Honda Civic Si 5 speed. The tranny is starting to grind so Im looking to replace the tranny. The car has a 1997 Honda Civic D16y7 engine. The car is a cable clutch. What 5 speed tranny will fit perfectly? Any info would be great. DO I NEED A CABLE TRANNY?

A: You need a cable clutch yes, unless you want to do the hydro conversion. A place by me fabs up a hydro conversion kit for about 400 bucks. other wise you need to find an older d15 trans with a cable clutch, just not one out of an 88 crx, any other will work. if you want to upgrade to hydro you can get a trans out of any civic 92-00 basically, Id shoot for one from a y8 since it has shorter gears, or one from a z6.

basically any D series trans will bolt up to a D series engine, you just need to fine one with a cable clutch, which will be out of the older year crx’s and civics.

Q: What would be a good down payment price on a Honda Civic SI 2008 ?
What would be an appropriate down payment amount for a Honda Civic SI 2008 (with an average amount of miles on it) , and what would be a good price for monthly payments ? Thanks ! (:

A: General rule of thumb is a minimum of 10% down.
A “good” monthly payment price all depends on your financial abilities.

Q: Can you replace the a/c compressor from underneath on an 03 Honda Civic SI?
My a/c compressor went out and I have the new one. I am wondering if you are able to replace it from underneath the vehicle. It looks like it is hard to get to. It looks like you would have to maybe move the motor if you did it from the top. The car is a 2003 Honda Civic SI 2.0L. Thanks :)
Thank you! That was exactly what I needed to know! I really appreciate it!

A: The compressor comes out from the bottom but you have to do a lot to get to that point. Here’s a recap of honda’s instructions for the replacement of the compressor on that vehicle.

before you do that, be sure that your blower motor works. On Hondas of that vintage if the blower motor didn’t work on all speeds it could prevent the compressor from working. So before you go taking everything apart, be sure the blower mtoor works.

Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, then write down the frequencies for the radio’s preset buttons.

Disconnect the negative cable from the battery first, then disconnect the positive cable.

Recover the refrigerant with a recovery/recycling/charging station.

Remove the front bumper.

Remove the right side headlight.

Remove the reserve tank from the bracket.

Remove the drive belt.

Remove the three bolts securing the alternator

Remove the alternator.

Remove the A/C condenser fan assembly.

Disconnect the A/C compressor clutch connector (A), remove the bolts, then disconnect the suction line (B) and the discharge line (C) from the A/C compressor. Plug or cap the lines immediately after disconnecting them to avoid moisture and dust contamination.

Remove the mounting bolts and the A/C compressor.

Install the A/C compressor in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

Q: What type of fuel do you put in your honda civic SI 2000.?
What type of fuel do you put in your honda civic SI 2000. I just bought one and honda says to put in premium in and thats what I’ve been doing for the first month of owning it, however could i put unleaded in without hurting it. also do I lose power if I use a lesser fuel.

A: Premium for true optimum performance from your VTEC motor. But if you don’t have enough money for premium then regular won’t hurt either.
I use VP’s C16 in my Honda;-)

Q: suggestions for a body kit for a 1994 honda civic si hatchback?
i have a 1994 honda civic si hatchback and i’m thinking of putting a body kit on it, but don’t know where to start. what places do i look for body kits? are online stores a good idea? what’s a good price for a complete body kit (what’s too high or too low)? about how much should installation cost? is there anything to look out for? does anybody have any bodykit suggestions?

A: well depending on ur car color u can think about adding a carbon fiber lip to it and some simple type r skirts on the sides if they are available but i dont recomend body kits because if u damage them u need to be driving without a bumper for a while and stuff with lips jsut take them off and repair them

Q: how can i get honda civic si 2000 into malaysia?
I been browse through for a long time but it seem that i cant get any feedback? Honda civic si 2000 is not available in malaysia?

A: get another car then..

Q: Where can I rent a Honda Civic SI Coupe near 91205?
Honda Civic SI’s come in Manual Transmission only.

Also, do rental places have manual transmission cars.

A: Car rental places generally only ever offer cars with an automatic transmission because 90% of customers cannot or just do not want to drive a manual transmission. Also, except for a specialty car like a Miata, cars with a manual transmission have far lower resale value. And the car rental business lives or dies on the resale value of the cars.

Q: Comments/Questions: Could a 2006 honda civic si, with a donut on the rear right hand side with a rating of 55m?
Comments/Questions: I have a question for anyone who could answer. Could a 2006 honda civic si, with a donut on the rear right hand side with a rating of 55mph, make it up to 100mph? Also, what damage would happen to the tire aside from tread wear. Would the tire not fail? Thank you

A: It’s not designed to speed.
You could lose control of car.

Q: Is a Honda Civic Ex the same as a Honda Civic Si Vtech?
I know a honda Civicex has a vtech engine. But now theres a Civic Si vtech. Are the new 2006 models of a honda civic ex and si vetch engine too?

A: yes they both have a iVtec, but both have completley different motors. (for the 2006+ gen)

the ex has a R18a1 (1.8l) and the Si’s come with the elusive k20(z3) motor with about 197hp opposed to the 140 of the R18. the Si also has 6 speed manual, a limited slip diff and stiffer springs.

Q: Is a 07 Honda Civic Si a good project car?
I would like a new year modeled car… i’m looking into getting a Honda Civic Si but not sure if it’s easily modded. Anyone know? And can engine swaps be done to it even though it’s so new?
thanks for the help. I know that newer cars are harder to work with because of all the ECU crap. Anyone have any tips on increasing horsepower without having to buy a new ECU. Or what kind of engine to swap into it and what are good ECUs to buy?

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net
