Q: What are the row seats called that were in cadillac vehicles in the 60s and are they available in the Dts?
On the movie driving miss daisy the older Cadillacs had seats that go straight across and was not open in the middle. What are those seats called and are they available in the current Cadillac Dts?
A: They are called bench seats.
The DTS might offer a split bench, but nobody offers a one piece bench anymore – the problem with those was if the driver was short and the passenger was tall – too bad for the passenger!
EDIT – according to cadillac’s web site, they have a “front flexible seating” option on the DTS which makes it a six passenger car. That would be a split bench instead of buckets and a console
Q: How often should I change synthetic oil in a 2002 Cadillac DTS?
I have a 2002 Cadillac DTS and I use Penzoil full synthetic 10W-30, and I was wondering how often you are supposed
to change the oil? I know its not every 3,000.
A: If your vehicle has a change oil light (most GM’s of that era do) – follow that.
Q: do i have to reprogram my cadillac dts if i replace the crank sensors ?
i have a 2002 cadillac dts and i replaced the position crank sensors but it still wont turn on. does it have to be re programed ?
A: It should still start up regardless if the new CKPs were calibrated or not. They are supposed to be recalibrate after replacement but many people have not had issues not recalibrating them.
Q: Where is the negative terminal located on my 2006 cadillac dts?
Where is the negative terminal located on my 2006 cadillac dts
-it says in the manual it is located behind the power steering pulley but i cant find what that looks like or where it is.
A: Where have you been? GM has been using side post batteries for something like thirty years, now. The negative is the black one.
Q: Is a Cadillac DTS a good first car?
I plan on purchaseing a cadillac dts performance w/ the Vogue vintage package. Is the dts a good car from 2006 or 2007.I dont care about mpg.My other choice was a lincoln town car signature limited from 07 or a used lotus elise.Any other suggestions. The only thing i dislike about the dts is the fwd.I’d prefer rwd.
A: Go with the Town Car. It has better ride and is RWD. My father has had 3 without any major problems. The acceleration is decent and you can really feel the power of the engine.
Q: Would you feel safe driving a car that could catch on fire? like the Cadillac DTS?
GM just recalled the Cadillac DTS because it could catch on fire.
A: nope
Q: Where is the Camshaft Position Sensor located on a 2002 Cadillac DTS?
I need to replace my Camshaft Position Sensor on my Cadillac DTS and needed help locating it….thanks
A: Should be front of the engine right side below the intake cover mounted on front block. Hope this helps. Maybe go into a autozone or something and have them show you.
Q: Whats the difference between a Cadillac DeVille and Cadillac DTS?
I have noticed on the road the DTS and the DeVille look exactly alike…I am just wondering what is the difference?
A: deville was used up to the 2005 model year and replaced with dts in 2006. dts is deville touring sedan. cts is catera touring sedan. sts is seville touring sedan. cadillac has gotten very found of the alphabet instead of actual car names
Q: what size tires do I need for a 2003 Cadillac Deville DTS?
I need new tires for my 2003 Cadillac Deville DTS. The tires that are on it now are P225/60HR16, but when I look for the tire size it is supposed to have, it says P235/55HR17. Could the wrong size tires make them wear out faster? The car only has 45,000 miles on it and the tread is already worn thin.
A: The wrong size will not make the tire wear out faster but can cause problems with the car itself. They will change the way the speedo and odometer read, they also change the angle of the drive shaft. running with the tires not properly inflated will cause premature aging of the tires. Also problems with the alignment and suspension will cause your tires to meet an early demise. The tires you should have are 235/55/17
Q: How do i take out the drivers side panel on a 2000 Cadillac Deville DTS?
I own a 2000 Cadillac Deville DTS and i have a slight problem. On the drivers side the frontal door where the window is, it just suddenly stopped working. At the moment the window is down and it wont go back up. I know how to fix the window itself but the problem is i cant seem to get through the panel because i cant find the screws or bolts to screw off the panel. Can anyone help me locate the screw/bolts? any help would be greatly appreciated
A: The handle etc are screwed on the panel it self is clipped on.
Q: I have narrowed down my choice of cars to purchase to the Cadillac DTS or the Infiniti G35x, which one?
I have a quandary: I have narrowed my future car choices to a 2007 Cadillac DTS high performance version – (used) with 20,000 and certified pre-owned with a bumper to bumper warranty for 5 years and 100,000 miles, and a new Infiniti G35x with the premium and navigation package that has a 3 year 60,000 mile warranty. My wife likes the Infiniti better and thinks the Cadillac is an “old man’s car” – I’m 44. What is everyone’s opinion out there?
A: Both are good choices. Websites often give their own opinions about vehicles, but I wouldn’t let that influence your decision. The DTS Performance Sedan is not an “Old Man’s Car”. If you were looking at a base DTS with a front bench, that’s a different story.
I’ve driven both, have friends that sell them, and know they both have good and bad traits. BTW, a Cadillac Certified Pre-Owned Warranty is actually 6 years or 100,000 miles bumper to bumper from original date of purchase. Personally, I would go with the DTS, but the G35 is not a bad choice. Good Luck with that!
Q: What does the “TS” stand for in Cadillac DTS, CTS and STS?
I know that the D in DTS stands for Deville, the C in CTS Stand s for Catera and The S in STS stand for Seville. I just cannot figure out what the TS stands for.
A: Touring Sedan
Q: How do you disable the daytime running lights on a 2006 Cadillac DTS?
I’ve tried turning off the “automatic lights” with the knob on the dash, but since my car is originally from Canada (later exported to the states), this does not turn off the lights? Any other ways? A specific fuse perhaps?
A: I know that they make you more visible to other drivers, especially when you are driving out of the sun(late afternoon). They really are a good thing.
Q: Where can I find Bumper parts for a 2007 Cadillac DTS?
Im looking for the plastic rivits for the the rubber spoiler under the bumper. Does anyone know what Im talking about?
A: The clips that hold the spoiler in place right? Try the Cliphouse – 800-229-2547. I don’t know if they deal with retail or just wholesale but they may be able to refer you to someone who does. If not, contact a dealer, they do sell just those pop rivets/clips.
Q: Could a Cadillac dts 2006 v8 northstar fwd drive in snow easily with a good set of winter tires?
Would it easily drive in Colorado, Montana, Alberta Canada… easily in the winter if it’s front wheel drive or does it have to be All wheel Drive.
A: In places like Colorado in the mountain passes they sometimes do have restrictions during storms requiring you to have chains and or 4×4 truck to drive the pass. Other than that should not be a problem. Its a nice car with a good traction control system so until the snow gets deep enough to touch the bottom of the car no problem. When the snow gets deep its the ground clearance that gets you stuck not lack of 4 wheel drive.
